Israeli army arrests 30 Palestinians in West Bank

Palestine – The Israeli army arrested 30 Palestinians last night in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, bringing the number of detainees in the West Bank to more than 10,000 since the start of the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7.

This was reported in a joint statement by the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority (governmental) and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (civil society), on Thursday, of which Anadolu Agency received a copy.

The statement said: “Last night and Thursday morning, the occupation forces arrested at least 30 citizens from the West Bank.”

The arrests were concentrated in the Hebron Governorate (south), while the rest were distributed among the Ramallah and Jerusalem Governorates (center), Tulkarm and Nablus (north), and Bethlehem (south), according to the statement.

He explained that “the Israeli authorities have arrested more than 10,000 Palestinians” since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7.

He pointed out that this data does not include detainees in the Gaza Strip, “whose numbers are estimated in the thousands.”

In conjunction with its devastating war on Gaza, which has been ongoing since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, leaving 632 dead and about 5,400 wounded, according to official Palestinian data.

With American support, Israel wages a devastating war on Gaza, leaving more than 132,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
