Tel Aviv: Israel is reportedly planning to reduce the number of reserve soldiers in Gaza due to heavy financial burden. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the country is facing a severe economic crisis due to the war with Hamas.

Israel had initially announced that it would deploy 3,60,000 soldiers. About 200,000 soldiers are now in Gaza. 1.3 billion dollars in salary for reserve soldiers alone. According to the report, the plan is to keep only enough troops and send the rest back. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier announced that the war would last for a long time.

Israeli forces are suffering heavy casualties as Hamas mounts a fierce defense. The Israeli economy is also suffering a massive collapse due to the war. The decline is evident in the stock market, real estate and banking sectors.
