Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli (83), known for animal print clothing, has passed away

The man who gave the fashion world striking designs with exotic animal prints and sandblasted jeans in the 1990s has died at the age of 83.

Roberto Cavalli started his own fashion label in the 1960s. He only later became a big name thanks to his use of printed leather.

World-famous stars such as Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot started wearing his creations and Cavalli remained popular in the generations that followed. Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, among others, were big fans. Cavalli headed his fashion house until 2015.

In addition to men’s and women’s clothing, Roberto Cavalli also sold accessories, glasses, watches, jewelry, perfumes and beachwear.
