Clashes between police and students took place in Rome today outside a conference on tackling low birth rates.

The protesters tried to reach the place where the work of the conference is being held, in which Pope Francis also took part this morning.

According to the information so far, two police officers and at least one young woman were injured in the clashes.

The approximately 250 students who took part in the demonstration questioned, among other things, the policy of the Meloni government regarding women’s rights and gender equality.
