The first incident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of West 16th Street. Police responding to reports of gunfire found a woman in her 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting took place around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 3500 block of Alcoy Road. Officers responded to a report of a man shot inside his home. Investigators reported the man was in his bed when he heard a noise and, upon sitting up, was struck by multiple gunshots, impacting his chest and arm.

A roommate transported the man to a hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition. Another roommate present during the shooting has been detained and is undergoing questioning by detectives, JSO stated.

JSO is asking anyone with information about either shooting to contact them at (904) 630-0500.
