Jair Bolsonaro was accused of “imperialist” for saying “our Argentina” and the memes rained

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonarowas criticized on social networks for his statements during the first presidential debate. The mention of him to the governments of Argentina and Chile provoked a shower of memes by users, who called it “imperialist”.

“Look where the economy is going. our Argentina. The president of Argentina visited Lula in prison. Today 40 percent of the Argentine population is in misery,” said Bolsonaro, referring to Alberto Fernández.

As for the country led by Gabriel Boric, the current Brazilian president referred in the same way: “Lula supported the candidate who set the subway on fire in Chile. Where is our Chile going? And continued:In Colombia, the candidate who is in favor of freeing drugs and prisoners. Lula supports Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua persecuting religious men”.

The memes were not long in coming. “Bolsonaro is promoting the Third Empire”, wrote a Twitter user, referring to the Brazilian president’s comments. In addition, he accompanied it with a joke video, in which Bolsonaro plays virtually to annex different territories of the world.

Along the same lines, in another of the memes he is compared to Pedro I of Brazil, the first emperor of that State. On Twitter, they used an image of the monarch and replaced his face with that of Bolsonaro, who was singled out for promoting the “Third Empire”.
