Jared Leto in Final Talks to Reteam With Al Pacino in ‘Assassination’ Movie

Jared Leto Joins All-Star Cast of JFK Conspiracy Thriller ‘Assassination’

Academy Award winner Jared Leto is in final negotiations to join the star-studded cast of “Assassination,” a gripping JFK conspiracy thriller. The film, directed by the acclaimed Barry Levinson, boasts an already impressive ensemble cast including Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser, and Bryan Cranston.

Unveiling Truth Behind a National Tragedy

“Assassination” centers on Dorothy Kilgallen, a pioneering female crime reporter portrayed by Chastain. Driven by her belief that Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act alone in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Kilgallen leverages her fame and influence to uncover the truth. Her investigation leads her down a treacherous path, pitting her against powerful forces – the CIA, the mafia, and the FBI – all determined to bury the real story.

A Powerhouse Collaboration Behind the Camera

The film’s screenplay, a compelling blend of historical intrigue and suspense, is a collaboration between David Mamet, Barry Levinson, and Sam Bromell. Corey Large and Jason Sosnoff head up the production, with Large also financing the project. Joining them as executive producers are John Burnham, Bernie Gewissler, Pia Patatian, and Jordan Nott. Nicholas Celozzi is also producing.

Filming Begins in Boston

Filming for “Assassination” is scheduled to commence in Boston in early 2024. Pia Patatian, formerly of Arclight, is overseeing global distribution through her newly established company, Cloud 9. Patatian unveiled the project to the industry at the American Film Market (AFM) last month.

Jared Leto’s Diverse and Acclaimed Career

Leto, celebrated for his multifaceted talents, is not only an acclaimed actor but also the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and main songwriter for the popular band Thirty Seconds to Mars. His impressive filmography includes starring roles in major productions such as “Panic Room,” “Suicide Squad,” “Blade Runner 2049,” and “House of Gucci.” Leto will next be seen in Disney’s highly anticipated “Tron: Ares,” due for release on October 10, 2025. He also starred opposite Anne Hathaway in the Apple TV+ series “WeCrashed,” which chronicled the rise and fall of WeWork, the shared workspace company.

Leto’s performance in “Dallas Buyers Club” garnered him numerous accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, a Golden Globe, a Film Independent Spirit Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Leto is represented by WME.
