Jean-Claude Balard is dead, he was the cult voice of the “Mysterious Cities of Gold”

DEATH – A dubbing icon is gone. Jean-Claude Balard, who lent his voice to several cult Franco-Japanese series of the 80s, is mort this Friday, May 13 at the age of 86.

The actor notably double the character of Mendoza in The mysterious cities of Goldof Priam and the black magician in Ulysses 31 and Professor Chassard in The Minipouss.

He also participated in the dubbing of some feature films well known to the general public such as the first two Star Warsbut also Top Gun, tomorrow never dies or Snow Whiteand the Seven Dwarfs.

Trained at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, he took part during his career, as an actor this time, in around twenty plays including those of Molière, Pirandello, Alfred de Musset, Racine and Shakespeare. He also played supporting roles in War and peace et Commissioner Moulin.
