Jeon In-ji wins the women’s PGA Championship

Jeon In-ji won the KPMG Women’s Championship, a major US women’s professional golf tour.

In the final 4 rounds of the tournament held in Maryland, USA, In-ji Jeon lost three shots to two birdies and five bogeys and recorded a final total of 5 under par, beating second-placed Lexi Thompson and Lee Min-ji by one stroke to rise to the top.

This is Jeon In-ji’s fourth LPGA Tour win and her third major championship win in three years and eight months since winning the KEB Hana Bank Championship in October 2018.

With this win, Jeon In-ji also resolved the sluggishness of the Korean player’s major tournament, which had been held in seven consecutive tournaments since A-rim Kim at the 2020 US Open.

Choi Hye-jin, who is challenging for the rookie of the year this season, tied for 5th with 1 under par, while Jin-young Ko, who ranked first in the world, and Nelly Corda, who was second in the world rankings, were tied for 30th.
