Jessi Ngatikaura, star of the reality television series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, has publicly shared her distress over the results of recent plastic surgery procedures. The 33-year-old took to TikTok on Thursday, March 5, to discuss her experience, revealing she is “extremely unhappy” with the outcome and felt unprepared for the impact on her appearance.
Ngatikaura underwent an upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and fat grafting in her face, procedures totaling $25,000, according to reports. While she initially sought a lower blepharoplasty, she says she agreed to an upper blepharoplasty as well and later regretted a fat grafting procedure she felt pressured into. She explained she didn’t fully understand the process, potential results, or recovery involved before proceeding with the surgery.
“I just listened to a suggestion [without] really understanding what it was, what it was going to do, what the results were gonna be, what the recovery was gonna be,” Ngatikaura shared in the TikTok video. She expressed regret over the fat grafting, which was presented as an alternative to traditional facial fillers and intended to stimulate collagen production in areas where she had experienced facial volume loss.
The procedures have led to complications Ngatikaura didn’t anticipate. She noted that the grafting was also applied to her lips without her consent, resulting in an uneven and “lumpy” appearance. “It’s made my lips really lumpy,” she explained. “I have one that dips. I’m getting a lot of comments about my lip filler, and I agree, it looks awful. My face looks terrible.” She also underwent Kybella injections to attempt to reduce some of the fat, but acknowledged that reversing the effects of the grafting is hard.

Ngatikaura’s emotional account highlights the potential risks and emotional toll associated with cosmetic surgery. She expressed feeling insecure and unrecognizable, comparing her current appearance unfavorably to how she looked in season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. “I look back at how I used to look [and] I watched season 4 and I’m like, ‘Damn. I looked really good.’ I wish I could have seen that. I’m gonna cry talking about it,” she said.
She stated she has learned a difficult lesson about self-acceptance and the pursuit of physical perfection, resolving to avoid further facial procedures beyond Botox. “I wish I saw my inner beauty,” Ngatikaura added. She urged her followers to thoroughly research procedures and understand the potential consequences before undergoing cosmetic surgery, warning that her experience “ruined my life” and has negatively impacted her career. “This last surgery ruined my life. I look f***ing hideous in season 5. It’s ruined my career.”
Her costar, Miranda McWhorter, offered support in the comments section of the TikTok post, praising Ngatikaura’s transparency and affirming her beauty both before and after the procedures. Fans also sent messages of encouragement and sympathy.
The experience serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of informed consent and realistic expectations when considering plastic surgery. It underscores the potential for unforeseen complications and the emotional impact of procedures that don’t meet desired outcomes. As cosmetic procedures turn into increasingly common, open conversations about the risks and benefits are crucial.
