Jimmy Fallon apologizes to the employees of his talk show The Tonight Show. Find out why

The international broadcaster apologized Jimmy Fallon To employees of The Tonight Show following a new report claims the work environment is toxic, in a new report Rolling Stone spoke to current and former employees of Fallon’s talk show, who alleged unprofessional behavior from the host and a “very depressing atmosphere” on set.

After the report was published, Fallon and director Chris Miller spoke to employees in a Zoom meeting, according to two employees, quoted by Rolling Stone.

Staff said Fallon apologized for the allegations in the report and said he did not intend to “create this kind of atmosphere on the show.” According to staff, Fallon said: “It’s embarrassing and I feel very bad. I’m sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends.” They added that “I want the show to be fun, inclusive, and I hope it’s the best show,” Fallon said.

An NBC spokesperson said in a statement to Rolling Stone: “We are extremely proud of The Tonight Show, and providing a respectful work environment is a top priority. As in any workplace, we have had employees raise issues; they have been investigated and resolved.” Taking action where appropriate, and as always, we encourage employees who feel they have witnessed or observed behavior that does not comply with our policies to report their concerns so we can address them accordingly.”
