“Joe Biden hopeful for debt ceiling resolution as meeting with congressional leaders expected on Tuesday”

REHOBOTH BEACH, Delaware, May 15 (Archyde.com) – U.S. President Joe Biden said on Sunday he was likely to meet with congressional leaders once more on Tuesday for talks on raising the U.S. debt ceiling and attempt to avoid a payment default which would be catastrophic.

Speaking to reporters from the state of Delaware, the Democratic tenant of the White House expressed his optimism regarding the conclusion of an agreement.

A meeting between Joe Biden and several senior parliamentarians was scheduled for Friday but was postponed.

Exchanges continued between the President’s teams and parliamentary assistants. Informed of the latest progress, Joe Biden said he believed that the Democratic and Republican camps were both eager to reach an agreement.

Joe Biden is scheduled to fly to Japan on Wednesday to take part in a G7 summit.
