Washington.-In a letter to congressional Democrats, President Joe Biden stood firm once morest calls for him to drop out and called for an “end” to the intraparty drama over whether he should remain in the presidential race following his dismal debate performance.
In the two-page letter, the president stressed that the party has “one task”: defeating presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in November.
“We have 42 days until the Democratic Convention and 119 days until the general election,” Biden said in the letter. “Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity on the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It’s time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump.”
