Alur (Karnataka): English pacer Jofra Archer, who was sidelined for a year due to injury, returned to bowling following a long break. What’s interesting is that the punter was not for the England team, but Archer was playing as a substitute for the Karnataka team in India.
Archer is with county club Sussex on a 10-day pre-season tour of India. Sussex was playing a practice match once morest the Karnataka team which included senior players as well as under-19 and under-23 players.
Sussex won the toss and elected to bowl. But Archer did not bowl for Sussex on the first day. But later he came on as a substitute for Karnataka and took both the Sussex wickets. Its video is circulating on social media.
In the 2022 star auction, the Mumbai star was brought to the team for 8 crore rupees. But Archer, who missed the entire 2022 IPL due to injury, played five matches for Mumbai Indians last season. After getting injured once more, he returned home. Then Mumbai released the star before the last auction.
