A total of 2,180 combatants, ocean patrol vessels, coast guard patrol vessels, missile boats, rotary wing aircraft, K-8 aircraft, amphibious vehicles, among other equipment were deployed in Turiamo Bay, Aragua state, as part of the joint exercises “Sovereignty 2023” carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

The information was announced, through a satellite link transmitted by Venezolana de Televisión, by M/G Whistohor Chourio, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the FANB’s Strategic Operational Command.

Through this exercise, an amphibious operation was carried out to take over and consolidate a beachhead, which demonstrates the capacity and timely response for the defense of the national territory, AVN reports.

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, expressed his admiration for the professionalism, capacity, morality and perfect management and deployment of high technology to defend the territory and the Venezuelan people.

“We never want a military conflict with anyone, we are a country of peace, but to guarantee peace, we always guarantee combat capacity,” he stated.
