The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced, on Wednesday, that the Kingdom and Kuwait reaffirm that ownership of the natural resources in the divided submerged area, including the entire Al-Durra field, is a joint property between the two countries only.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the Kingdom and Kuwait alone have full sovereign rights to exploit the wealth in that region.

She added that the Kingdom and Kuwait “renew their previous and repeated calls for Iran to negotiate regarding the eastern border of the submerged area divided with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait as one negotiating party, and Iran as another party, in accordance with the provisions of international law and the principles of good neighborliness,” according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.
