Jordan buys about 50,000 tons of fodder barley in a tender, via Reuters

HAMBURG (Archyde.com) – Jordan’s state grain purchaser has bought regarding 50,000 tonnes of feed barley from optional origins in an international tender that expired on Wednesday, traders said.

Dealers initially estimated the quantity purchased at up to 60,000 tons.

The purchase was made at an estimated price of 302.30 per ton, including freight, with shipments to be delivered in the second half of June. It is believed that the seller is Amiroba Trading.

Dealers said that the other commercial companies that submitted offers in the tender and the prices they provided per ton, including the cost of freight, are: CHS ($315), Cargill ($325), Vitera ($319), Bunge ($325), Olam ($317.50), and Grain. Australian Export ($322), Greenflower ($312), Cofco ($320.90) and Dreyfuss ($311.50).

They added that it is not yet expected to issue a new tender for the purchase of fodder barley.
