Yousef Al-Shamali, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of Jordan, said that the partnership initiative that was signed yesterday between Jordan, the UAE and Egypt, establishes unprecedented cooperation to achieve economic integration in many fields, especially industrial ones.
He added in a statement that the industrial sector is one of the main levers for developing the economic situation in various fields, motivating other sectors, and contributing significantly to providing job opportunities and reducing poverty and unemployment. Al-Shamali said: “The initiative reflects the visions of the three countries to achieve industrial integration, and to enhance the utilization of advantages, resources, capabilities, raw materials, capabilities, expertise, distinguished geographical location, logistical capabilities, enormous transport infrastructure and smart financing solutions, with the aim of establishing integrated industries that contribute to diversifying the economy, promoting its growth and creating specialized job opportunities. ».
He indicated that the focus during the current stage will be on priority strategic areas such as achieving food and drug security, giving flexibility and security to supply chains, and working within the sectors of agriculture, food, fertilizers, textiles, minerals and petrochemicals.
He said that an implementation mechanism for the initiative will be developed through specialized committees from the three countries, within a specific timetable.
