Jordanian National Electricity Company Director Announces Electricity Assistance for Lebanon and Progress on Interconnection Project with Iraq

The Director of the Jordanian National Electricity Company, Amjad Al-Rawashdeh, announced that “Jordan is ready to provide Lebanon with electricity, as the Lebanese side is waiting to address some points related to financial matters,” according to what “Russia Today” quoted Jordanian media.

The director of the company explained, “The electrical interconnection project with Iraq is proceeding as planned, as the first phase will end on the Jordanian side in August.”

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced, earlier, that the connection with Jordan will be put into service at the beginning of next July, with a capacity of 50 megawatts as a first stage.
