2023-11-11 09:18:42

Jorge Martin (Ducati-Primac) is only 11 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) in the world championship following the Malaysian GP sprint. The Spaniard took 2nd place in this race, behind Alex Marquez (Ducati) but ahead of his Italian rival.

Francesco Bagnaia however started from pole position on the Sepang circuit following beating Jorge Martin by 58 thousandths during qualifying. The reigning world champion had to settle for 3rd place, 3”034 behind the winner and almost a second and a half behind Jorge Martin, who had five consecutive wins in a sprint.

Fourth on the starting grid, Alex Marquez took full advantage of the marking between the two title candidates. The 27-year-old Spaniard, younger brother of eight-time world champion Marc Marquez, flew through the proceedings to pick up his second success of the season in a sprint following the one celebrated in Great Britain in August.
