José Manuel Porcel, head of the Internal Medicine service, is the new medical director of the Arnau de Vilanova hospital, replacing Alfons Segarra, who a few days ago was appointed manager of the ICS in Lleida and Gestió de Serveis Sanitaris (GSS). Several doctors from the hospital yesterday agreed to highlight the great professional value of Porcel, who is also a professor at the UdL Faculty of Medicine. He is the third best world expert on pleura, according to a medical ranking made public last September.
On the other hand, Jorge Juan Olsina, head of the Digestive Surgery service, has become director of surgical procedures at Arnau. Meanwhile, Teresa Rodríguez assumes the medical direction of the Santa Maria hospital, which until now was also in the hands of Alfons Segarra.
