Asunción, IP Agency.- The Minister of Justice, Angel Barchini, took a tour this Thursday of the Minga Guasu New Model penitentiary, which is in the process of completion for its prompt authorization. The Ministry of Justice announced that an exhaustive verification of the prison will be carried out for its official reception.

A total of 1,232 people deprived of liberty who have final sentences will be housed in the new penitentiary, in compliance with international standards.

In this way, the new Minga Guasu high security prison will greatly help decongest the prison system and reduce conflicts between factions.

“Minga Guasu will be a high security penitentiary that has modern electronic control, monitoring and security systems,” reported the Ministry of Justice.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Justice also provided identification cards and medical insurance to new prison officers who carry out practice in the penitentiary, who completed the training in order and discipline to manage the prison population.
