K.Starkevičius will leave Vice Minister V.Tomkai, Chancellor V.Aleknavičius to work at the ŽŪM | Business

“Tomkus is appointed – I really see competence, (V.Tomkus – BNS) a long-term mayor of Kaišiadori, such a breakthrough of youth and experience. And Aleknavičius, the chancellor, he is also already in my team. We are already meeting,” K. Starkevičius told Žinia Radio on Thursday.

“There were four vice-ministers, they really won’t be needed that many. While working in the government of (former prime minister Andrias Kubiliaus – BNS) Kubiliaus had three deputy ministers in 2008-2012, because there was a crisis. Now there is no crisis or anything. One more vice-minister will definitely need to be accepted. We will try to work a little more economically,” he said.

Later, K. Starkevičius clarified to BNS that two vice-ministers will work in his team – one more female vice-minister should work in his office together with V.Tomkus.

“I’m talking about reducing the bureaucracy, so reducing the bureaucracy should first start with yourself,” K. Starkevičius told BNS on Thursday.

In addition to V.Tomkaus, Donatas Dudutis, Vytautas Abukauskas and Egidijus Giedraitis worked as vice-ministers under the leadership of K.Navickas.

K. Starkevičius will start working as a minister from Tuesday.
