by James Carter Senior News Editor

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is expanding its lodging options with the introduction of Kalahari Treehouses & Lakeside Cabins, a recent collection of elevated retreats designed in partnership with Nelson Treehouse, and Supply. The unique accommodations, nestled in nature, promise a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors to the Wisconsin Dells, offering stunning lake views and cozy amenities. The project represents a significant investment in the resort’s offerings and caters to travelers seeking immersive and memorable stays.

The treehouses are the result of a collaboration between Kalahari Resorts and Nelson Treehouse and Supply, a family-run firm renowned for its treehouse design and construction, and featured on Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters. Pete Nelson, the visionary leader of Nelson Treehouse, has brought his expertise to the project, creating structures that blend seamlessly with the natural environment. The new accommodations aim to showcase the region’s beauty and provide a distinctive alternative to traditional hotel rooms.

What to Expect at the Kalahari Treehouses

Guests can choose from a variety of treehouse options, including Waterfront Treehouses, Waterfront Grand Point Treehouses, Waterfront Sunset Treehouses, and Accessible Treehouses. According to Kalahari Resorts, all treehouses include exclusive beach access to Lake Delton, complimentary WiFi, convenient parking for up to two vehicles, and daily housekeeping service. Select treehouses too offer exclusive access to a pool and hot tub, available seasonally. The treehouses range in size, accommodating between six and ten guests, and feature kitchenettes for added convenience.

The Waterfront Treehouse, a 625-square-foot option, is designed for up to six guests. The Waterfront Grand Point Treehouse offers 893 square feet and can accommodate eight. For larger groups, the Waterfront Sunset Treehouse provides 1,248 square feet and space for ten. An Accessible Treehouse, spanning 717 square feet, is also available, designed to accommodate up to six guests with accessibility in mind. Rates for stays begin May 17, 2026, with a minimum two-night stay required.

The project has been in development for some time, with initial progress updates shared on social media. A Facebook post from Nelson Treehouse and Supply in February 2026 showcased the construction of the treehouses, anticipating an opening in Summer 2026. The post generated significant interest, with over 150 comments expressing excitement about the new accommodations.

Pete and Emily Nelson recently toured the first completed treehouse at Kalahari Resorts, providing a glimpse of the finished product. A video of the tour, available on YouTube, highlights the unique design and features of the treehouses. Nelson Treehouse and Supply has built 28 custom treehouses for the resort.
