In an interview with The Tribune Players, Kalidou Koulibaly confides that he is sometimes questioned regarding his choice to snub the French team for the Teranga Lions. But according to the Chelsea defender, many people did not know that he was only talking regarding Senegal at home.
“Sometimes people ask me why I chose to play for Senegal rather than France. They tell me that if I had chosen France, I might have become world champion. I was born in France and I have a French culture, but nobody knows that I only spoke Senegalese at home. The dishes I ate were Senegalese, I chose Senegal to make my father and mother proud,” he revealed.
” Today, he adds, I am very proud to have made this choice. I have never felt remorse even though France is one of the strongest nations in the world”.
