Kankan: the wandering of animals in the city center irritates the authorities

2023-10-15 11:00:50

The boss of the municipality of Kankan denounces the wandering of animals in the streets of the town of Kankan Nabaya.

Domestic animals, cows, goats and sheep have been moving around the city center in large numbers these days. After observing this phenomenon for months, the mayor of the urban commune of Kankan, Mory Kolofon Diakité, warned the owners.

In an interview given to our correspondent in the region, this Saturday, October 14, 2023, the mayor of the city emphasizes that the city center is not a place to raise livestock. This is why he invites breeders to go to camps or to the village. Failing this, Mory Kolofon Diakité threatens to now take the owner of any animal that is apprehended to court.

“The municipal police will come out to check the city center. All livestock that will be picked up on the Kankan roads will be handed over to the courts, including the livestock owners. Any person who comes to present themselves as the owner of livestock will answer before the courts. Everyone must take their livestock and without exception. There will be no prayer to say that I did not know, it must be clear, when we take your cow or your sheep in the streets, we will hand them over to justice. It has to fall into people’s ears,” warned the mayor of Kankan.
