Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Player Karim Benzema left the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Wednesday, and headed towards Saudi Arabia, to join the Jeddah club, which he recently joined, with a 3-year contract until 2026.

And the French striker published, through the “Story” feature on the Instagram platform, a picture that showed his presence on the plane, and commented, saying: “Let’s go to Al-Ittihad Club.”

While the “Tigers” team’s account tweeted on the Twitter platform: “Our new star, Karim Benzema, is on his way to Jeddah. Are you ready, champions of the World Exceptional League?”

And Saudi press reports had stated that Al-Ittihad Jeddah Club would hold a reception for its new player, Thursday, at the Radioactive Jewel Stadium, the team’s stronghold.

And it was decided that Benzema (35 years old) would wear shirt No. 9, provided that he would represent the team at the start of the 2023/2024 season.

Karim Benzema is considered one of the most prominent players around the world, and he represented the French club Lyon, the Spanish Real Madrid, and his country’s national team for several years, during which he achieved a large number of achievements on the individual and collective level.
