JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com/KFGO) – Democrat Katrina Christiansen has officially announced her candidacy for North Dakota’s U.S. Senate seat in 2024.

Christiansen, of Jamestown, an engineering professor at the University of Jamestown, will challenge Republican incumbent U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer who will be running for re-election next year.

In her announcement, Christiansen said, “People are tired of the chaos and lack of results coming from Washington.” As an engineer, she said she’s a problem solver who doesn’t care regarding partisan politics.

Christiansen ran for the US Senate in 2022 but lost to Republican incumbent John Hoeven.
