Kerala Muslim Jamaat says Sriram Venkataraman made collector defies rule of law

Malappuram | The District Committee of Kerala Muslim Jamaat said in a statement that the government’s decision to make Alappuzha District Collector Sriram Venkataraman, the killer who killed Siraj Thiruvananthapuram Unit Chief KM Basheer while he was in his official position, was extremely heinous and disrespectful to the rule of law.

By placing this person in such a position, who has been charged with murder and is being tried in court, the government is behaving in such a way as to sing praises to those who break the law and destroy evidence. The committee said that this is an insult to the officers who are working with honesty and justice. The committee also demanded that he be immediately transferred to the position of Alappuzha Collector.
