Khrabrovo Airport Expansion: Meeting the Growing Demand for Tourism in the Kaliningrad Region

Khrabrovo airport needs to expand its capacity due to the growth of tourist flow to the Kaliningrad region, said Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko, he is quoted TASS.

“We understand that we are needed because the demand is huge, and the number of tourists is twice the population of the Kaliningrad region, and we understand that this flow will grow, we understand that there is no escape and the airport will need to be expanded in the future ”, Chernyshenko commented.

The vice-premier added that already this autumn the country’s leadership will be shown the start of a project to attract an additional 10 million tourists who might have a rest on the sea. “There will be a huge resort here in a place that has not yet been developed, it will be a big project that deserves the attention of the president, who will make a very big contribution to achieving this figure of 10 million tourists by 2030. We hope that it will be earlier than 2030, by joint efforts,” the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized.
