King Charles actually has his hands full organizing his coronation in May. At the end of the month, however, the 74-year-old and his wife Camilla (75) will be taking their first trip abroad together since taking office in September. As Buckingham Palace announced on Friday, the state visits to France and Germany are intended to demonstrate the partnership between the Brexit island and the two most important countries in Western Europe. According to German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the visit before the coronation at the beginning of May illustrated “the close and cordial friendship between our countries and our citizens”.
