King Philippe traveled to Spain on Monday to pay tribute to his uncle, the late King Baudouin. He was accompanied by Princess Eleanor and Queen Mathilde. The Palace has unveiled new photos on social networks.

King Baudouin died on July 31, 1993 at the age of 62 at his summer residence in Spain. This Monday marked 30 years since his death. And to pay homage to him, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, as well as Princess Eléonore, traveled to Spain in Motril. The royal palace unveiled photos on its Instagram account.

The King, Queen and Princess took part in a tribute ceremony at the new Villa Astrida memorial. This is the vacation home where the monarch died on July 31, 1993.

In Brussels, the Royal Crypt, installed in the Notre-Dame de Laeken church and where the tomb of King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola is located, was exceptionally open this Monday until 5 p.m.
