UPDATE : Reviews have yet to take place, but the worst is to be feared. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Klay Thompson is reportedly suffering from an Achilles tendon injury. It’s not yet clear if this is a breakup, but it would be absolutely disastrous for Thompson, the Warriors and the NBA.
The All-Star full-back has already missed the entire 2019-20 NBA season with a serious injury. We wholeheartedly hope for a pleasant surprise later this week, but the insiders are all but reassuring on this subject.
00h58 : The Golden State Warriors should be quietly preparing their Draft. Instead, here they are, waiting, not to say anguish, to play a new season without Klay Thompson. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Warriors full-back injured his right leg in practice on Wednesday.
The nature and severity of the injury is not yet known, but Klay Thompson was unable to put his right foot to the ground and was escorted off the field. He will be taking tests in the next few hours to determine the severity of what may be shaping up to be a terrible blow.
As a reminder, Klay Thompson missed the entire 2019-2020 season, after suffering a rupture of the cruciate ligaments in his left knee, the other therefore, during the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
We really hope the youngest of the Splash Brothers will learn that it’s not a big deal. An NBA without Klay Thompson is not exactly the same …
