In 2019, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, filed a lawsuit against the 1 + 1 TV channel because of the plot of the Groshi program, which was hosted and produced by the current People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People, Oleksandr Dubinsky. The court granted the claim and ruled to refute the information expressed in the program.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko won a lawsuit against the “1 + 1” TV channel for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. This is stated in the decision of the Podolsk District Court of the capital, which is at the disposal of “Babel”.
As the newspaper notes, the court made the decision itself in November 2020, but the parties only now received it in their hands. In this regard, both Klitschko and the TV channel have 30 days to appeal.
According to the document, the mayor of Kiev and a co-plaintiff, who is his adviser, Dmitry Belotserkovets, filed a lawsuit back in August 2019 after the broadcast of the program “Groshi”, the host and producer of which was the journalist, and now the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” Alexander Dubinsky.
Having considered the claim, the court ruled to satisfy it, obliging the TV channel to refute the false information on the air of the “Groshi” program, as well as to remove the video of the program from all information resources of the TV company and social networks associated with it.
In addition, the court ruled to recover UAH 50,000 in favor of Belotserkovets for moral damages (the claim said about UAH 1.5 million).
As the newspaper reminds, we are talking about the plot of the program “Groshi”, which claimed that Klitschko allegedly covers the “mafia”, which forces entrepreneurs from MAFs to pay tribute. The authors of the story assured that the mayor of the capital also allegedly destroys the business of those who do not agree to pay.
