Run for Lorène: A Race with a Purpose
“Run for Lorène” is a solidarity race to be held on Wednesday, July 2, starting at 2 PM in the Park du Grand Blottereau, Nantes. Established by Lorène’s friends, the event is supported by Ouest Radio Assistance and features races and walks of 2 and 5 kilometers open to everyone.
Raising Funds for Mental Health
The race seeks to generate funds for the “gofundme” account opened by Lorène’s family post her tragic demise. As of July 1, the fund stands at approximately 65,000 euros. These funds will support psychological intervention networks for children and adolescents, both to aid the victims and enhance public services.
Post the tragedy, Lorène’s family expressed a strong desire to aid psychological support systems. They’ve been in touch with several local and national organizations dealing with youth mental health to suffice the continually growing funding requirements.
The Tragic Incident
Lorène, a high school student in Nantes, was fatally stabbed in her school on April 24. The suspect, another student, was reportedly lonely with suicidal tendencies as determined by the prosecutor and subsequently hospitalized.
