Police officers of the Eordaia Security Department arrested a 21-year-old foreigner, a member of a criminal organization, who was active in telephone scams, while two of his accomplices, a man and a woman, members of the criminal group, are being sought.
The 21-year-old, who had the role of “collector”, was spotted in Ptolemaida at the time he received the sum of 3,500 euros from a 64-year-old man, whom the perpetrators tried to defraud by pretending that his wife had caused a car accident resulting in the serious injury of a minor child .
The 64-year-old, perceiving the fraud, immediately informed the police officers of the Eordaia Security Department, who formed a special police team to locate and arrest the person who would receive the money.
In the possession of the 21-year-old was found and confiscated the sum of 3,500 euros, which was attributed to the 64-year-old, a mobile phone, as well as I.X.E. car.
The arrested person, with the criminal case filed against him, was taken to the Kozani Criminal Prosecutor’s Office.
