The court had earlier asked all the accused, including Surendran, to appear in person. But Surendran filed a release petition arguing that it was a fabricated case. This is where the court intervenes.
The court said that following appearing in the court, the accused can take further action following obtaining bail. However, there are reports that the defendants are moving to approach the High Court in the case.
