Kuwait City: As inflation rises, the cost of living in Kuwait increases. Al-Anba, a local newspaper, reported that prices of daily necessities, including foodstuffs, had increased. According to the Central Statistics Department, the consumer price index rose by 3.79 percent in November. Household expenditure will increase further with inflation. With the increase in the price of food items, there is also an increase in the prices in the retail market.

Kuwait Society for Consumer Protection Chairperson Khalid Al-Zubai said that the price of a carton of frozen chicken increased from eight dinars 900 to 15 dinars 900. He asked the authorities to take immediate steps to curb the price hike.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce has stated that steps will be taken to prevent the rise in prices of goods including food items. Vigilance will be strengthened to prevent black market and hoarding. Inspections will be strengthened in the public market to prevent overcharging. If you are caught charging excessive prices, there will be severe punishment. Officials said that exploitation by cheating customers will not be allowed in any way.
