How big will Ukraine be once the Kremlin’s war of aggression once morest Russia’s southwestern neighbor is over? That is the question that geopoliticians and military strategists, as well as many in Ukraine, keep asking themselves. From a legal point of view, of course, the annexed and occupied territories will not be given up in violation of international law. De facto, however, Russia continues to create facts. In an interview on Dutch TV on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that it would not be possible to reconquer the entire country militarily – and was probably referring primarily to Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014. Such a scenario would kill hundreds of thousands of compatriots, Zelenskyy said.
