Under the rain, athletes, representatives and coaching staff of La Caraqueña Fútbol Club gathered on the field this Friday to pay tribute to those who died in the traffic accident that occurred in Caripe, Monagas state, last Tuesday, September 24.
Between prayers, applause, tears, white balloons and with their club uniform, the athletes who live on the field of the La Caraqueña Sports Center honored the little soccer players Luciano Medori Leonet and Jhassikocv Gil, both 5 years old. They also paid their respects to Alfredo Medori (38), Alfredo Alejandro Medori (15) and Heidi Gil (37).
Family, friends and different football categories join the mourning that grips the Real Barcelona and Menca Sport clubs, due to the tragic death of their players after participating in the III Jardín de Oriente Tournament in Caripe.
On the day of the accident, the Anzoátegui State Football Association issued a statement expressing their condolences. In addition, the sports institution decided to suspend all football activities for 5 days.
