The sixth edition of La Velada del Año, the crossover boxing event created by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, is scheduled for July 25, 2026, at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, Spain. The event has rapidly grow a major digital entertainment phenomenon in the Spanish-speaking world, attracting millions of viewers and significant brand sponsorships.
The most recent iteration of La Velada del Año, held in 2025, peaked at 9,334,179 viewers on Twitch during the first fight between Pablo “Peereira7” Pereira and Rivaldo “Rivaldios” Reatiga, according to streaming analytics firm Streams Charts. This surpassed the previous record of 3,846,256 peak viewers set during the 2022 event. The 2025 event also reached a peak of 14,078,025 total live viewers on Twitch, a figure previously considered unattainable. Attendance at the 2025 event exceeded 80,000 spectators.
La Velada del Año’s growing audience has attracted a diverse range of sponsors, including Coca-Cola, Spotify, Revolut, Mahou, Maxibon, CeraVe, Grefusa, Nothing, InfoJobs and VICIO. Revolut is confirmed as the main sponsor for the 2026 edition, continuing a partnership established in previous years.
The event’s appeal to brands lies in its ability to integrate traditional sponsorships – such as ring presence and branded equipment – with digital activations, viral content, and social media campaigns driven by the participating content creators. This combination offers brands a level of visibility difficult to achieve through conventional advertising channels.
Ibai Llanos first launched La Velada del Año on May 26, 2021, at a private venue in Barcelona. The inaugural event was held behind closed doors due to COVID-19 restrictions and featured three fights. Subsequent editions have been held at the Pavelló Olímpic in Badalona (2022) and the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid (2023), with the latter drawing an estimated 70,000 attendees – the highest for a boxing event in Spain since 1930.
The fifth edition of La Velada del Año also propelled Ibai Llanos to become the most followed streamer on Twitch, with 19,687,595 followers as of July 26, 2025. Llanos regularly broadcasts on his Twitch channel, ibai, and also maintains a presence on YouTube.
The 2026 event will be held at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, a venue with a capacity of over 58,000, suggesting organizers anticipate continued high demand for tickets.
