Raimo Vīgants and Lauris Kaparkalējs followed closely behind, finishing in 61st and 62nd place respectively, with times of +13.74 and +13.88 seconds. Norwegian Johannes Klēbo, the Olympic and World Champion in sprint, unsurprisingly topped the men’s qualification with a time of 2:42.32. France’s Lucas Chavanat finished second (+1.02 seconds), and Italy’s Federico Pellegrino rounded out the top three (+1.98 seconds).
