Gavirate, Italy – The Lombardy Region is gearing up for an exciting event on the Gavirate lakefront, celebrating the progress of the Aqst project and inviting everyone to participate in the second edition of the “Run for Lake Varese” race. This year’s “Day on the Renovation of Lake Varese – The Lake We Want” promises to be a splendid occasion packed with activities, discussions, and delicious lake fish dishes.

The sixth edition of the “Day on the Renovation of Lake Varese” will take place on Sunday, June 29, at the lakefront Isolino Virginia. The event aims to bring together experts, institutional representatives, and citizens to discuss the progress and future challenges of the Aqst project, which has been active since 2019 and is set to conclude by the end of 2026.
The program kicks off on Saturday, June 28, at 3:00 PM with a tourist bicycle ride along the cycle and pedestrian track of Lake Varese, organized by CicloVarese. On Sunday, the day begins at 9:15 AM with the non-competitive “Run for Lake Varese” race, followed by various activities such as children’s games, canoeing demonstrations, and a photographic exhibition by Armando Bottelli.

The event will be attended by prominent figures, including the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, and the councilor for the environment, Giorgio Maione.
