Lamborghini puts his already very curvy Huracán on even sharper sprinter boots. The STO – Super Trofeo Omologata – is a thrilling super sports car with road approval – in the event that one of the trailers for the racing weekend is missing.

In itself, the Lamborghini Huracán STO doesn’t have much to look for on the road and should mostly eke out its overly sporty existence in collector’s garages or on race tracks. Because the license plates disguise the fact that the Super Trofeo Omologata is a real racing car that has benefited greatly from the successes of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and the Huracán GT3 EVO, which include three times the 24 hours of Daytona and twice the 12 hours of Sebring could win. If you are or want to become a racing driver, the Lamborghini Huracán STO with its naturally aspirated V10 engine is the right choice. This has an output of 470 kW / 640 PS and a maximum torque of 565 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Fired so wildly, the rear-wheel drive car sprints from a standing start to speed in 3.0 seconds and breaks the 200 mark in 9.0 seconds. In contrast to its pure road brothers, the maximum top speed is still reduced to an impressive 310 km / h.

“The Huracán STO offers the fun of a very balanced, light and aerodynamically superior super sports car that reflects the driving experience and the enthusiasm of the Super Trofeo,” says Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer, “It is perfectly tailored to the most demanding racetracks in the world but made for the road. The extensive technical solutions gained from our Super Trofeo and GT3 programs have been refined and implemented in the Huracán STO so that the driver can experience the emotions of a racing driver every day in a street-legal Lamborghini super sports car that is also able to To set lap records. ”

The front hood, fenders and front bumper consist of a single component, which Lamborghini engineers have christened “Cofango” (a combination of Cofano – hood – and Parafango – fender -). This not only saves weight, but also saves time when making pit stops. Special air channels on the hood improve the airflow through the central cooler and at the same time contribute to more downforce. In addition, the Huracán offers a new front splitter, which directs the airflow in a targeted manner to the vehicle underbody and rear diffuser. The new design of the bonnet also ensures improved air cooling in the engine compartment. The adjustable rear wing optimizes the aerodynamics according to the requirements of the respective race track. The aerodynamic balance of the vehicle can thus be changed by 13 percent, whereby the STO can be adapted to different driving styles and conditions. The overall efficiency of the air flow has been improved by 37 percent and the contact pressure has been increased by 53 percent compared to the Huracán Performante.

Thanks to the carbon body, the empty weight of the Huracan STO at 1,339 kg is another 43 kg below the Lamborghini Huracán Performante. This is also ensured by a lighter windshield and special magnesium rims. Optionally on it: Bridgestone Potenza tires – either as road or racing version. For the appropriate skills on the slopes, the sharpest of all Huracáns offers details such as rear-wheel steering, a more direct steering ratio, as well as the three driving modes STO, Trofeo and Pioggia. The Lamborghini Veicolo Dinamica Integrata driving dynamics system is optimized for different road conditions and coupled to a variable damper setting.
