The Greek Meteorological Service reported that heavy rain fell in many parts of the country on Friday, while Arcadia, Elea and Achaia, on the Peloponnese island, recorded the highest levels of rainfall.
“High winds were also recorded in Peloponnese regions such as Pylos and Kalamata,” Kostas Lagovardos, research director at the Athens National Observatory, told Kathimerini. Heavy rain also fell in Attica on Friday, accompanied by intense lightning. No further rain is expected in Attica until late tomorrow evening, Sunday.”
