Latvian Singer Rokeris Miks Releases New Single “Skumjas glāzē”

Latvian rocker Miks Galvanovskis has unveiled his latest single, “Skumjas Glāzē” (translated as “Tears in a Glass”), marking another deeply personal addition to his discography. The song premiered during the second GAMMA music industry awards ceremony on March 5th in Riga, at the “Xiaomi Arēna,” and is now available on YouTube, with wider streaming availability expected soon.

Galvanovskis describes “Skumjas Glāzē” as a raw and honest reflection of his life, continuing a trend of vulnerability in his songwriting. “The song ‘Skumjas glāzē’ once again reflects my life without pretense,” he stated, according to reporting from Delfi. “Often it’s not easy, often it’s too elegant. This song is about my existence, which is busier than loneliness and lonelier than abundance.”

The creation of “Skumjas Glāzē” involved Galvanovskis’ core band members: Kristens Kupčs, Mārcis Briška, Jānis Narbuts, Reinis Briģis, and Liepāja rock legend Roberts Dinters. The music video was directed by Elvis Lācis, with video projections created by Arvis Rode. You can watch the music video on YouTube.

A Year of Successes for Miks Galvanovskis

2025 proved to be a successful year for Galvanovskis, with his album “Tā mana dzīve” (That’s My Life) resonating with audiences. He as well opened for the legendary rock group Scorpions at the “Xiaomi Arēna” and completed his first major concert tour, “Par savu zemi saukt” (To Call It My Homeland), with sold-out shows across Latvia. The momentum continues into 2026, with the release of “Skumjas Glāzē” and upcoming concerts scheduled at Palladium Riga on March 20th and 21st.

Galvanovskis’s performance at the GAMMA awards ceremony, where he debuted “Skumjas glāzē”, followed the presentation of awards recognizing achievements in Latvian music. Fiņķis was among the top winners at the ceremony, as reported by Delfi.

“Skumjas Glāzē” and Upcoming Performances

Tickets for the additional concert on March 20th at Palladium Riga are available through the “Biļešu serviss” ticket service. The release of “Skumjas Glāzē” follows a recent post on Facebook announcing the song’s availability on YouTube and its impending release on all streaming platforms. An Instagram post from Instagram shows Galvanovskis at Palladium Riga with collaborators Reinis and LaimuCo.

As Miks Galvanovskis continues to share his personal experiences through his music, fans eagerly anticipate his upcoming concerts and the wider release of “Skumjas Glāzē” on streaming services. The artist’s dedication to authentic storytelling and powerful performances solidifies his position as a prominent figure in the Latvian music scene.
