Kollam: Senior hockey players were honored as part of the inauguration of the Senior Players Association of Hockey (Spa), an association of senior hockey players in Kerala. The logo was also released. The Malayalee hockey players who represented India were honored at a function held at the Hockey Stadium on Saturday at 3 pm. Mayor Prasanna Ernest inaugurated and District Sports Council President Ernest Xavier unveiled the logo. Rufus D’Souza, the state’s senior hockey player and coach, and George Nynan, a Malayalee who represented India in international competitions, were honored. Those who have played on the Hockey State senior team for at least a year will receive a membership in the Spa. The goals of the spa are to increase the popularity of hockey in the state and to help players financially. Thiruvananthapuram GV The kit was donated by Alan Newman, a student at Raja School and a hockey player. A friendly match between the senior hockey players was also held at the hockey stadium. Spa President K.I. Damien, Secretary Sunil d. Immitty, Treasurer TP. Mansoor and Joint Secretary Ali Sabir were present.
