The disaster took place on the night of Monday to Tuesday, rue de Chanzy.
“I was awakened by noise… When I left I discovered that there was fire”, explains Christophe Vacher, the boss of the garage located rue de Chanzy in Le Creusot and BMW dealer.
The fire was in the exterior part, at the rear of the building. The boss of the garage, who was on night call, then called the firefighters. It was a little past 4:15 a.m. on the night of Monday January 2 to Tuesday January 3.
Under the direction of Lieutenant Christophe Gallarati, joined by Commander Sébastien Deroche, around fifteen firefighters from the Creusot and Montchanin centers deployed on site. Two lances were put into action to fight the flames, control the disaster and prevent further spread.
“I really want to highlight the professionalism of the firefighters who were very, very efficient,” said Christophe Vacher. However, the toll is heavy with three cars, a semi-trailer and a fridge truck destroyed.
A police investigation has been opened. But for the boss of the garage has his little idea. “I might notice that the door of the Clio on fire was open and this car had been impounded very recently”.
