League Against Cancer: Record Donations for World Cancer Day 2023

2024-02-11 21:00:00

On the occasion of World Cancer Day which took place on February 4, the delegated members of the League Against Cancer in the municipalities of Rolampont, Lannes and Chanoy took stock of the 2023 donations. Thanks to the dedication of the volunteers who carried out their card sales tour at the beginning of October 2023, nearly €6,500 was collected and donated to the Haute-Marne departmental committee. This amount is significantly higher than that of the 2022 campaign (€5,271) and the volunteers (Ms. Dusigne, responsible for the sector, Ms. Cappelaro, Ms. Ranc, Ms. Ley, Ms. Dalpra and Ms. Balland) can only be satisfied with this collection. These donations, deductible at 66% of taxes, are essential since they allow the association to finance research teams and programs chosen for their excellence, to meet the needs of sick people and their loved ones, to contribute to the promote their rights and prevent disease. As a reminder, cancers represent the leading cause of premature mortality in France, with more than 157,000 deaths. The association can thus count on the mobilization of 11,500 volunteers spread across 103 departmental committees to raise the sums necessary for the implementation of a policy to combat cancer.
