Lewis Hamilton’s Journey to Sobriety: From Alcohol Struggles to Non-Alcoholic Tequila

Lewis Hamilton had problems with alcohol. This is what he confided in an interview with Vogue: “I started drinking when I was 16. In a social environment, there is a lot of pressure. You have a drink and when you go home you’re like, ‘Why did I do that?’ I realized that I did it because I felt social pressure. How might I feel this pressure at 38? Imagine how an 18 year old must feel.”

For four months, the F1 champion has not touched a taste of alcohol. “I don’t know if I’ll ever do it once more. Since I stopped, I feel so much better, so much clearer. I also sleep a lot better. During training, I felt that the alcohol was making me feel worse. negatively affected. I was always looking for that little extra thing. As an athlete, that’s always the right thing to do.”

To compensate for a possible lack of alcohol, Lewis Hamilton marketed a non-alcoholic tequila drink. Almave, its name, is a drink made with blue agave, the same plant as tequila.

There is a “pure” version and another “la Blanco”, to mix in cocktails.
